Vivian Funches
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Vivian Funches is the Chief Financial Officer for the Black Researchers Collective. Vivian is an accomplished senior level financial executive with over 30 years of proven, innovative management experience. Born and raised in Chicago, Vivian received her B.S. in Accountancy from Chicago State University and has spent her professional career pouring back into her hometown. She has worked in managerial and senior level roles at organizations across Chicago. She started her professional career, over thirty years ago, with the prestigious, largest African-American Certified Public Accounting Firm of Washington, Pittman and McKeever, CPA’s. Vivian has also worked at The Salvation Army’s Chicago Divisional Headquarters and the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council. Vivian has professional affiliations with the Illinois CPA Society and the American Institute of Certified Accountants. She also serves on the board of the Mount Sinai Hospital Group, the Friends Forever Foundation, and the Chicago Opera Theater.
In her professional endeavors, Vivian is passionate about formulating relationships with internal and external partners. She is also passionate about working with religious organizations, especially those within the youth ministry.
On a personal level, Vivian enjoys spending time with her beloved Bichon Frisé. She also loves to read, especially suspense novels, as they afford her an opportunity to use her analytical skills in solving the mystery before the end of the story.
